There is a German saying There is no good cherry eating with him which has the meaning "It's best not to tangle with him" 'cause if you say one wrong word he will punch you immediately in the face. So this is the character of these 4 bands represented on this live compilation, some of the most aggressive and politically radical punk from Berlin and Hannover, recorded at the KZ 36 in Berlin. KZ ist the usual abbrevation for concentration camp (although the Nazis officials used the abbrevation "KL") and 36 stands for the part of Berlin which is know as SO (= south east) 36. The KZ 36 was the alternative for the SO 36 which a lot of punks hated for their more avantgarde musical offerings. The KZ 36 was managed by Karl-Ulrich Walterbach who later founded the well known German punk label Aggressive Rockproduktionen but today deals mostly with heavy metal music.Link

All right, but in this case, the "KZ" officially stood for "Kommunikationszentrum" (= communication centre). Black punk humor, y'see.
yeah, I forget to complete the explanation of "KZ", but I think it's more than black humor 'cause like Mittagspause said "Wir sind die Türken von morgen" (= we are the turks of tomorrow) and also there was the common saying about the racism in Germany at that time that what happened to the jews in the past will happen to the turks tomorrow. and because in berlin at that time right wing neighbours attacking punks and also there was a lot of police action against the radical left und punks there was a general feeling among the punks that they will be victims too of the society. see, this was the time when people said to those who didn't look like the mainstream, be it punk or hippie: "Unter Adolf hätte man dich vergast" (= during the time when Adolf Hitler ruled the country you would have been sent to the gas chamber). see, these were really dark ages in Germany 30 years ago.

You're right, of course, the name was more than a pun. Anyway, black humour is called "black" because there's always some truth hidden inside.
I'm too young to know what it was like in Germany 1980 (5 years then), but if you listen to bands like Ätztussis or Katapult, you realize just how dark the situation must have been. When Katapult is talking about bank robbery ("Angst"), it's not just youthful boasting.
