Mittagspause - Herrenreiter

To be honest Mittagspause never sounded like your typical punk band. They received a cult status without releasing much because they were one of the first band to release a record (a 2 EP set). In fact it sounded amateurish but had interesting lyrics. But soon the singer and one of the two guitarists started to loose interest and founded Fehlfarben to follow the latest trends from London. This second release on Franz Bielmeiers Rondo label has the best and the worst of Mittagspause. "Herrenreiter" is great with driving guitars, angry vocals and the unique drumming style of Marcus Oehlen, but why did they put a lame cover of the old Marlene Dietrich children song "Puff the magic dragon" on the flip? Just to annoy everybody?
