Der Plan - Geri Reig

If you are looking for the essential records of the neue deutsche Welle then "Geri Reig" by Der Plan sure is one to be included in any Top 10 list. The first album from this trio from Düsseldorf is unique in its use of synthesizers and 4-track-recording technology. In some kind of ways it is inspired by The Residents but then it has a total unique sound that had nothing to do with clean industrial sounds but it sounds positive and human. Although later records by Der Plan are more song orientated and accessable - except for "Die letzte Rache" - their style was never successfully ripped off.
